Tuesday Night Projects with Friends.

Here we are in one of the classrooms at Lady Bug's Quilts. I am hand binding my daughters Christmas quilt. (I am taking the picture so you can't see me) Jennifer is trimming her hole in a role blocks. Joann is working on binding for her lavender wall hanging. Betsy is getting ready to trim her quilt. Dianha is marking pieces for a quilt top that she will be working on New Year's Day. Sandra is Custom Hand Quilting on a Baby Quilt with all kinds of zoo animals.

Jennifer is in the other classroom at Lady Bug's Quilts cutting out a pair of flannel PJ Bottoms. I love the blue & white winter print.

Here is a close up of one of Joann's Borders on the top she finished last week. It is just so striking. The red flowers truly just set it off perfectly.

Here is the quilt that Betsy had finished and was trimming tonight. It is full of gorgeous rich colors. Annie quilted it for her.

Kathy is putting on black binding on her quilt trying to get it finished. Now all she has to do is the hand binding.

Here is the front of Kathy's quilt. I wish you could see the quilting on this one. It just brought it to life with varigated thread. My understanding is this is one of the last ones that Peggy quilted and what a fabulous job it is.
Well I hope you enjoyed everything we did tonight. I will try to keep you all posted. We will be back at the library next Tuesday night and then the following two weeks we will be at Lady Bug's Quilts. Then we should be back on track with our normal schedule at the library.

Tuesday Night Get Together Still On at a New Location!

Just a quick note. The library is closed for tonights get together, soooooooooo we are all going to me at Lady Bug's Quilt Store for our Tuesday night evening social of sewing. Hope to see you all there. Will post pictures from tonight later.

Skiing over Christmas Break!

I hope everyone has had a Wonderful Christmas. It has come & gone in our house. The girls are still figuring out their new toys and gifts-two days later.

I am not sure how it is going to sound when my husband has to call into work and says I can't make it; I had a skiing accident over the Christmas break. His boss is going to ask; Where did it happen? His response is going to be right here in my living room. Yes, I did say living room.

Our Christmas gifts this year were electronic. He got a Wii. This all by it self should explain the skiing accident in our living room. Have any of you used this thing? It is suppose to be fun, but I am living proof that this little Wii is potentially dangerous. I myself had issues with my knee on one of the ski jumps, not to mention falling off of the Wii Board then turning my Wii Mii into this big fat snowball falling down the mountain side.

We have been using the Wii Fit; but I am telling you it is Wii Tired & Sore!

Last Minute Gifts

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a sewing caddy/trash bag/pin cushion that I just finished up for my daughter for Christmas. Talk about last minute. I even got her matching scissors to go with it.

Look at these pretty jars that Miss Barbara gave me for Christmas to add to my collection. They are all so unique. Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you.

I couldn't believe it when I saw this one. It is actually purple. Gorgeous.

Last Tuesday Night Group of the year 2008. . .

Here are a few pictures from our Tuesday Night Group from the Manteca Quilters Guild. We had eight ladies show up. There was some sewing going on, some gift exchanging and even some of Santa's helpers wrapping. Sometime you just never know.

This is Barbara quilt top, black and white with just a little bit of color. She took the class from Dianha at Lady Bugs Quilts. I wish my picture was better. Amber said she wants to do this quilt. She really likes it.

These are Dianha's, looks like she is ready to assemble. I can't wait to see the finished quilt. I believe it is a wedding gift for a special friend.

Joann finally finished this top. I cannot wait to see it when it is quilted. I think it is just going to come to life. I wish my picture was better so you could see all of the incredible detail work.

Mad Dash for the Post Office at 8PM

Yep, it is December 22, and I am now finally done with my Christmas Cards. I only need one address. It might just have to wait. I don't know about anyone else but this is how it looks when I am in the middle of addressing all of my cards. I am hoping a majority of my family & friends will receive their cards before Christmas. But everyone should know after 40 years the cards always seem to be last minute for me.

As for my Christmas Stockings I am half way through the fourth and finally stocking. They will have to wait until next Christmas. With me being bit under the weather this past week I just haven't been able to get all my projects done. So I guess I just got a head start on Christmas 2009!

Rain, Rain & More Rain.

I have stayed inside for most of the day due to the rain. I have made a few changes and updates to my blog. Thanks Dianha. Feel free to leave comments and let me know what you think. I have been getting last minute projects ready to try and complete at our Tuesday Night Social Meeting for the Manteca Quilting Guild.

Getting Caught Up on Pictures

Most of you have seen these pictures some of you haven't. I am trying to get caught up and get a little practice on making postings. Hope you enjoy!

I fell in love with Jenn's runner. I had to get the pattern and fabric at Lady Bugs Quilts.
Here is a close up of one of the blocks from the runner. I also made place mats that matches the runner for all four of us. November 2008
Here is a lap quilt that I made for my Grandmothers Birthday. Happy Birthday, Nana. Thanks Again Sandra, Your quilting on this piece made it a special treasure. October 2008
Here is my Hole In A Roll. Bali Pop from Sandra. Thanks Again. Yep-Blue & Purple Batiks. Dianha was our instructor at Lady Bugs Quilt Shop. Now all I have to do is trim up my blocks to finish the top. November 2008

This is going to be Amber's Christmas Present. I got the pattern (Yellow Brick Road) from Judy & Bob. Thanks guys. Amber picked out all of the fabrics. I can't wait for her to open it Christmas morning. I made a matching pillow sham/tote bag for it.
During a Tuesday night social for Manteca Quilt Quild; here I am working on strips for another quilt. You got it - all blues and purples. August 2008
Here is my Scrappy Red/White/Blue Quilt that I made for my Anniversay July 4th, 2008. Wow 16 years. We will use this quilt to have picnics and watch the fireworks. It has a matching tote. I took this class from Manteca Quilt Guild VP Ginny. We all had so much fun. Thanks Ginny. Job well done! Excellent instructor.
Here is a John Deere quilt that I made. I found a pattern that I liked in a magazine. I used two layers of warm and natural batting and it has a flannel backing. This is one HEAVY quilt. It was for my husband for fathers day 2008.
I did prairie points all the way around this quilt. My first and probably my last time doing a queen size quilt with prairie points.
Here is a close up of the John Deere Blocks.
Here I am a Proud Mom showing off Amber's quilt right before we donated it.
Here is Amber working on a quilt that she will donate to Philanthropy at the Manteca Quilter Guild were she is a Junior Member. This is all in honor of her 11th Birthday. March 21, 2008
Here are some bears the Many of the Manteca Quilters made and entered at the Manteca Quilt Show. Amber's is the light blue one in the lower left corner. Can you guess? Yep, mine is the blue right in the front row. March 2008
I am still working on the Mumbo Gumbo. I have a total of 16 blocks done. I think this may end up being a table topper and not the queen size quilt I was first intended. As of February 2008
Here I am at a free sew that was with the Manteca Quilt Guild. November 2007
This is a close up of another Xblock. This was a Christmas Present for Karissa 2007. It has a matching flannel pillowcase with her name embroidered on it.
Here is another XBlock Quilt that I did in October 2007. Yep in blue again, this time I added a little green. It also has a matching pillowcase. I just love the baby hippos. It is a baby boy "Nicolas". This is the first quilt that I have made that wasn't for someone in my family.
The is an XBlock Pattern. I took this class also from the Manteca Quilt Guild. I chose all snowflakes and dots. And yes all in BLUE. I even added hot fix crystals to this piece. I use this table runner when I display all of my snowmen (mostly blue/white). I did this in October 2007.
This is a kit that I received from my Aunt Jerry. I added all the Blue fabric all she had were the 12 white blocks. She had four completed and I finished the rest. I started it in September 2007 and finished it in February 2008. It was also entered in the Manteca Guild Quilt Show this year.
This is my Mumbo Gumbo from September 2007 I took a class through the Manteca Quilters Guild.

Welcome Stitchers & Friends!

Welcome to all. I have been watching a few blogs the last couple of years. I have resently been inspired by a few friends (you know who you are) to create my own. So here it goes. I am going to give it a try.

It is getting very close to Christmas. I still have four stockings to finish and my daughters quilt. So much to do so little time. I guess it is one stitch at a time.

Here is a picture of my girls in front of our Christmas tree. Hope you like it.
