Happy Valentines Day To All!

I woke up to a full cooked breakfast this morning from DJ. MMmmmmmmmmm all gone. I hope everyone is having an enjoyable day. We are going to be watching the Daytona 500
Race. Right now we are enjoying the pre-show concert of Tim McGraw. Wish I was there. But to look at the good side of it this way I get to watch the concert and race in my pj's.
Who is it? Who could it be? Is is really? I think it is. You might be right.

It is. You got it. It is the Winner of the Daytona 500. Yep, Bass Pro Shops!

Sewing projects and a Gift Exchange with the ladies.

This saying was so great. Yet none of us even ordered desert. This could be a good healthy choice. For me I didn't need it. I was there enjoying conversation with friends.

I got a box of handmade cards from Liz. This is something that I wish I could do. I could just never have learned. Maybe we should plan a paper party. Any takers???? (Maybe in October to make Christmas cards.)

Liz got a reusable travel bag from Bonnie with the city lights on the outside and baseballs in the inside. I think I have seen Liz use the same baseball fabric for a purse last year. So I know she will enjoy.

Sandra got this apron from Di. This is the back because Liz thinks it is the pretty side.

Here is a close up but the flower pot kept moving on me. The flowers were made with two yo yo's and two buttons and fabric leaves on flower wire. I even ripped up fabric to create the look of pete moss. There is even a fabric packet of seeds. I hope you enjoy.

Bonnie got a pot full of flowers made by me. Happy Valentine's Day Bonnie.

Di got a fabric box made by Jenn full of paper products and gifts.

Jenn got two reversable reusable shopping bags out of apple fabric from Sandra.

Here is the inside. I still have the bottom padded piece that needs the binding put on. I already quilted it. It is for Bela to ride on so it isn't so hard on her little body.

Here is a picture of my bike basket liner. It turned out so pretty thanks to Jenn. I took alot of her ideas from her basket liner. I know that hers and mine are pretty close in colors but I bought fabric that matched my bike. I post a picture next time I take a ride.

This is Barbara's piece that she was working on Tuesday evening. I love the points on her sunflower.

This is such a cute baby quilt top. I sure hope that I didn't goof up a surprise. Please let me know if I did so I can apologize to the appropriate parties. I just couldn't resist taking a picture and posting it.

This is Amber's Puppy in the Window panel that she has been hand embelishing for the past year. It is turning out so cute.

This is Dela's Ribbon flowers. There were several of us that took this class. I spilled a diet coke on mine. It just came out of the dryer on Monday. It has definitly seen better days. After the repairs I will try and finish it so you can see my version .

This Joan's ribbon pansies. I love how the basket is made out of ribbon too.

This is Carolyn's quilt top (pinks and browns). I think she was putting minkie as the back.

Moments to remember for a lifetime!

Amber is usually happy when she wants something. This time I took a picture just to remind her~That yes I do do special things for her. Just like highlighting her hair after I worked today so it will look gorgeous for the Sweetheart Dance on Wednesday. This is her before picture only a Mother could love. I will post her after picture before the dance on Wednesday. (She looks just like my Cuz in this picture)

Don't forget that tuesday evening sewing group gets together tomorrow night at the library in the McFall Room. Hope to see you all there. But for now I have to go watch The Bachelor.

From 5' to 10' WOW ITS HUGE!!!

Ok so now it went from 5' to 10'. It took about 5 hours. We were one screw short so DJ had to run to OSH so we could finish the assembly. Now what to quilt??????????? Will post more later.

Busy Busy Busy

So here is a cheater panel that I found in my stash. I was trying to figure out my new machine. So I got to practice my stippling. Not to bad for a beginner. If any one has any quilting designs that they might want to share, I am interested. I have a new magic powder thingy I can use with templets and my table has a spot for the panograph to use with the laser.

Here is a close up of one of the Alley Cats. I had the girls pick out all kinds of different buttons for the eyes. Then I added a bunch of wirery whiskers. I think it is turning out sooooo cute.

This is the back so you can get an idea of how much free hand quilting I did. I know it is not purrrfect. But it is my first and good practice for me.

I picked up this quilt top at last years quilt show in the quilters attic. KD picked it out. So I figured that it would be another good practice job.

Here is a close up of my stitches. You can see I am trying to figure out how to regulate my stitches.

Here is the back. DJ doesn't like it at all. I keep asking him what he thinks and all he keeps saying is he doesn't like the fabric. I gave up. I wanted to know what he thought about the quilting.
Here is another close up of the back. Kinda boring hugh. I will try and get a little more creative.

I forgot!

So Sorry, I forgot to post this picture. I picked up this a couple of weeks a go. It has some gorgeous purple and red flowers along side all the pretty gold filigree. I have no clue how old it is. I have been trying to get the tension adjusted since it keeps breaking the thread after a few minutes of sewing. I have never seen these types of bobbins before let a lone the shuttle type bobbin case. This is going to be a real pretty Royal Electric Sewing Machine once the cabinet is cleaned up and all the chrome gets polished back to the shiny silver.

Tuesday night sewing at the Library.

Here are a couple of projects some of the ladies were working on.

This is Liz's colorful quilt top. I love the way the colors changes from yellow through orange and to pink.

This is Jen's Sock Monkey. Isn't she cute.

Happy Ground Hog Day!

Can't wait to hear what the little guy is going to see this morning. Have a great day everyone.

Remember there is sewing for Philanthropy at the church today. Since it is the first Tuesday of the month it will be a pot luck lunch. Since I am working today I won't make it.

I will be meeting mom at Curves today at noon. Woo Hoo two straight days doing the circuit.

I am going to try to go to tonight's Tuesday Night Sewing Group at the library but not to sure how my schedule is. I need to work on the Manteca Quilt Guild President's Challenge. Don't forget it is due at this months meeting so you barely have four weeks to get your paper piece recycled shopping bag done.

Until next time, happy stitching. LA

Can you say Pfaff???!!!!!

Well as you read my story yesterday it took me saturday and saturday evening to quilt 18 blocks on my brother machine. I still have 69 blocks to go plus the stopper and the border. Thus begins my search for a better way. And I found this gem. She is so pretty. I have never had a Pfaff, but I have seen and sewn on a few of my dear friends Pfaff's. I even called a few friends to bend an ear or two to see what I should do. I talked to my dear husband and I think he knew I wasn't going to give up. I blasted him with every ounce of information I had on this Pfaff Grand Quilter & the Pfaff Next Generation Frame. This began at 4:00 today and by 4:30 he said go get and you cannot buy anything else then by 8:30 pm I had gone to Livingston and brought it back in his truck. Shhhhhhhhhhhh Everyone keep looking for a singer featherweight table for me. ok.
Here is the front view. It is set up right now at 4ft. but the box there behind it on the floor to the right has all the extension poles etc.
Here is an up close and personal picture of the machine. This also has the extension table along with the knee lever to raise and lower the presser foot for piecing. Yaaaaaaaa I can't wait to try it out on my next big piecing job.
Yep this one is a little blurry. I guess it is cuz I am just so excited. I have to learn how to use it. It even has all the fancy gadgets. The laser & remote on/off switch. There is probablly more that I am forgetting. All I can think is Yaaaaa Me!!!!! A Big THANK YOU goes out to Marlene.
